LVHN selected Allied as the construction manager for this project due to its capabilities and experience working in such critical environments. This project included the construction of a new control room, Hybrid OR, and equipment room consisting of approximately 1,000 SF. The construction of this new OR entailed a full demolition of the existing OR and installation of new components including an extensive medical gas upgrade. Four new Skytron booms were installed and required new structural steel supports and a unistrut system. The work was performed in the middle of the hospital’s operating department, located between two functioning OR’s and in front of sterile supply. Logistical planning and infection control was paramount to this project’s success in order to not disrupt operations in the existing OR’s.
